DESCRIPTION:Community members are invited to gather for a public celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Twin Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake. \nThe event is hosted in partnership by the Rotary Club of Prior Lake\, the Rotary Club of Savage\, and the Savage Community Equity Commission. \nThe program will feature excerpts from the PBS documentary Hope in the Struggle: The Josie Johnson Story\, followed by a facilitated community discussion. The evening will focus on reflection\, progress\, and shared hopes for the future. \nLocal students in grades 5–12 have been invited to participate in an essay and poetry contest\, with selected students sharing their work during the event.
