DESCRIPTION:The Prior Lake Polar Plunge returns for its 17th year\, bringing the community together to support Special Olympics Minnesota. \nSince its start\, the Prior Lake Polar Plunge has raised more than $3.1 million\, with over 1\,100 plungers raising $313\,000 in 2025 alone. Each year\, participants brave the cold waters to raise awareness and funds for year-round sports training and competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities. \nThe 2026 Polar Plunge will take place at Sand Point Beach\, with local individuals\, families\, school groups\, and teams participating throughout the day. \n\n🔹 Local Team Spotlight\nThe Prior Lake Boys Basketball team\, along with other PLHS athletic teams and Unified Club members\, will be taking the Polar Plunge this year. \nDonations made in support of the Prior Lake Boys Basketball team help fund Special Olympics Minnesota while also supporting local Unified programming and the basketball program. \nSupporters are welcome to attend\, cheer on the teams\, or donate through the official Polar Plunge site. \n👉 Official registration & donation page:https://www.plungemn.org/events/prior-lake/ \n\nAdditional Info\nCommunity members are encouraged to stop by Sand Point Beach to support plungers throughout the day
