DESCRIPTION:Scott County Library leads Maple Metamorphosis\, an early autumn color walk and watercolor evening\, on Thursday\, October 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cleary Lake Regional Park\, 18106 Texas Ave in Prior Lake. \nThe group takes a gentle one-mile hike on turf trails to see native maples start to turn\, then returns to the pavilion for sunset over the lake\, warm tea and a fire\, and paints the leaf that caught their eye in watercolor. It is free\, for ages 18 and up\, and offered with Scott County Parks and Three Rivers Park District. \nRegistration is required and space is limited to 20; sign up on the library’s event page.

It’s a good evening for kids who want to see the engines up close and meet the crew. DESCRIPTION:Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools holds a community information session on its Nov. 3 referendum on Thursday\, Oct. 8\, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the District Services Center\, 4540 Tower St. SE in Prior Lake. Residents can learn more about the two ballot questions\, see how the money would be used and ask questions\, the district says. \nCan’t make it? The district streams the session live on its livestream page. Its fact sheet\, presentation\, sample ballot and tax calculator are on the district’s referendum page. \nThe night before\, Wednesday\, Oct. 7\, Superintendent Jim Wagner presents at a town hall at The Savage Tap hosted by Yes for Laker Schools\, a volunteer group that supports the referendum. \nTwo questions are on the Tuesday\, Nov. 3\, ballot: a new operating levy\, and a capital projects levy that applies only if the first one passes.
