DESCRIPTION:The Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce brings Ladies Night Out back to Downtown Prior Lake on Thursday\, September 10 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Shop\, sip and mingle your way through more than 40 downtown businesses and vendor booths\, with light snacks and sips at some of the stops along the way. \nStart at check-in at The Radiance Lounge\, 4769 Dakota Street SE. That is where you pick up your wristband for the giveaways\, a bingo card to fill in as you visit participating businesses\, and a tote bag if you are among the first 150 through the door. Wristband winners are drawn at every booth\, a full bingo card is a second way to win\, and the night wraps up with a grand finale celebration at the Prior Lake VFW. \nThe Chamber counts 85-plus giveaway opportunities for ticket holders. DESCRIPTION:Public Safety Day is back at Cleary Lake Regional Park on Saturday\, September 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. Kids can climb into a variety of service and emergency vehicles\, take photos\, and talk with the police officers\, firefighters\, emergency medical crews and others who drive them. It is free and open to everyone. \nThree Rivers Park District hosts the afternoon with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and other area public safety agencies. In past years the lineup has included a Sheriff’s patrol boat\, squad cars\, a fire engine and a helicopter\, so bring a camera. Yes\, that includes goats. \nWant a workout in the middle of it? A 20-minute full-body class led by Molly of Equip Studios runs 2:30 to 3:15\, followed by a 10-minute goat yoga cooldown from Sunshine Linings. Registration is $30 and the class is for women only. Dads and kids can browse the vendors while class is in session. \nSarah of Equip Studios\, a professional photographer\, is also offering 10-minute family mini sessions for $15\, with five edited digital photos delivered afterward. A quick way to update the family pictures before the holidays. SUMMARY:Community Chicken Feed at the Prior Lake VFW
DESCRIPTION:VFW Post 6208 throws its annual Community Chicken Feed on Sunday\, September 13\, serving from 3 to 7 p.m. This year the dinner grows into a full-on party in the post’s parking lot at 16306 Main Ave SE in downtown Prior Lake. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. Everyone is welcome\, member or not. \nThe Chicken Feed is one of downtown’s longest-running traditions. It began as the Prior Lake firefighters’ fall chicken dinner\, cooked and served at the VFW for years\, and a September Sunday chicken dinner has been a downtown fixture ever since. In recent years the party took over Main Avenue itself\, with the street closed to traffic for the afternoon. This year it moves a few steps off the street into the post’s lot\, same outdoor block party feel. \nThis year’s plate is barbecued chicken with a baked potato\, pickles and Casey’s sweet corn\, and there is live entertainment on site along with children’s events. Tickets are sold the day of the event at the post. The Facebook event page has the latest. \nThe dinner is a benefit for the post\, which has anchored downtown Prior Lake since 1946 and marks its 80th year in 2026. If you have never been inside the VFW\, this is the easiest afternoon of the year to fix that.
