SUMMARY:NEIL! Martin Zellar's Tribute to Neil Diamond — Rhythm on the Rails
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota music veteran Martin Zellar\, longtime frontman of Gear Daddies and a fixture of the Twin Cities scene since the ’80s\, brings NEIL!\, his full-band tribute to Neil Diamond\, back to close out the 2026 Rhythm on the Rails series. Originally set to open the season in June\, the show was postponed and now lands on Wednesday\, August 5 as the rescheduled finale. Expect the singalong anthems and ballads from Diamond’s catalog (“Sweet Caroline\,” “Cracklin’ Rosie\,” “Forever in Blue Jeans\,” and more) reworked through Zellar’s heartland-rock sensibility. \nRhythm on the Rails is a free outdoor concert series held on Wednesday nights through the summer on Lewis Street in downtown Shakopee. Each night runs from 6–9 p.m. with a local opening act warming up the crowd before the headliner. The street closes to traffic and turns into an open-air block party\, with food trucks and vendors on site: Amazing Momo\, The Cave Cafe\, Rollin Nolen’s BBQ\, Game Day Grub\, Westy’s Shako Shack\, O’Brien’s Public House\, and Texas Roadhouse. DESCRIPTION:Prior Lake Days opens Friday\, August 7 with the Sip and Stroll\, a 21-and-over tasting event in downtown Prior Lake. Hosted by the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Viking Liquor Barrel\, it runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The entrance is at 4617 Colorado Street SE\, with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. \nTicket holders stroll downtown for wine\, beer\, and spirit tastings along with local vendors and food trucks. Tickets are $25 in advance through August 6\, and $35 day-of and at the door on August 7. Everyone entering must have a ticket\, and a valid ID is required. No strollers\, carriers\, or pets. DESCRIPTION:The second day of Prior Lake Days is a free family day at the south end of Main Street in downtown Prior Lake on Saturday\, August 8 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to everyone\, with live music\, food trucks\, a Kids Zone\, and community activities filling downtown. \nLive entertainment\, presented by Morgan Family Dental: a Kids Dance Party with a DJ from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, a Cookie Eating Contest from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m.\, live music from Robert Bozaich from 2 to 3:30 p.m.\, and Jake & Ensemble from 4 to 6 p.m. \nKids Zone\, presented by Primrose Schools: an obstacle course\, a rock climb slide\, a bounce house\, an electronic light game\, a hairspray tent\, a Culver’s ice cream cart\, temporary tattoos\, robotics team demonstrations\, STEM games\, water races\, and a Percy mascot meet and greet.
