DESCRIPTION:The Prior Lake Police Department\, Fire Department\, and Allina Health host a free Bike Safety Rodeo for kids ages 2 to 17 (with an adult) at Hidden Oaks Middle School. Children can show off their bike safety skills\, get their helmets fit-tested\, and ride a bike obstacle course\, plus get an up-close look at first responder vehicles. Bring your own bike and helmet; scooters and wheelchairs are welcome. Participants who bring a helmet and bike are entered into prize drawings. \nFree to attend. SUMMARY:Prior Lake-Savage Schools Indian Education Powwow
DESCRIPTION:The Prior Lake-Savage Schools American Indian Education Program (District 719) hosts its Indian Education Powwow on Saturday\, May 30 at Prior Lake High School. The powwow runs from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Activity Center\, with entry through the lower parking lot. It is free and open to the public. \nA graduation recognition for kindergarten\, 5th grade\, 8th grade\, and senior students takes place from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Food tickets will be provided to graduation families and staff. \nThis year features emcee Crow Bellcourt\, arena director Chaske LaBlanc\, host drum Wicahpi Hoksila\, head female dancer Lucy Blaess\, and head male dancer Zach Red Bear. There will be two special dances this year: a 2026 graduate dancer special (1st place $100\, 2nd place $75\, 3rd place $50) and an old style grass special (1st place $300\, 2nd place $200\, 3rd place $100)\, plus spot dances and a potato dance. \nFood trucks on site include Trickster Tacos\, Frybread Factory\, and Tater Tot Temptations. Volunteers are needed\, and vendors can contact the American Indian Education Program for information.
