DESCRIPTION:Weather update\, Friday\, September 18: the city canceled the Friday evening session because of the weather. Saturday is on as scheduled. Check the city’s weather updates page Saturday morning before heading downtown. \nDay two of Chalk Fest runs Saturday\, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Main Avenue in downtown Prior Lake\, between County Road 21 and Dakota Street SE. \nProfessional chalk artists fill the street with large-format pieces\, alongside an amateur chalk art contest\, interactive art displays\, live music\, and food trucks. Chula’s Mexican-Latin Food & Spirits and Lightbridge Academy sponsor the Saturday events\, and a KaiBi Mobile Family Care unit is on site both days. \nThe amateur contest is open to young artists in two age groups\, 12 and under and 13 to 18\, each working a 4 by 4 foot square of pavement with prizes on the line. Online registration is $20 per person through noon on September 17\, and day-of registration is $30 if space allows. Register for the contest through Prior Lake Parks and Recreation. \nAll vendor spots are full for 2026. Sponsorship details are at priorlakemn.gov/sponsorship. \nBoathouse Brothers Brewing\, at 16211 Main Avenue\, holds a temporary city liquor license for an art appreciation street party on Saturday and Sunday afternoons\, September 19 and 20\, with beer served in a fenced area\, so there is extra time to take in the chalk after the festival wraps.

DESCRIPTION:Three Rivers Parks takes families out on Cleary Lake for a guided fall color paddle on Saturday\, September 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. Instructors from the Outdoor Recreation School cover canoeing basics first\, safety and paddle strokes\, then the group heads out to explore the lake while the shoreline is turning. \nAges 8 and up\, $12 per person\, and all equipment is provided. DESCRIPTION:Canterbury Park closes its live racing season on Saturday\, September 19 with Fan Appreciation Day. First post is 4 p.m.\, a later start than usual for the finale\, and the track runs giveaways\, interactive games\, food and drink specials and prize drawings between races. \nAdmission is half price for the last day: $5.53 in advance for adults 18 and up\, and the same for youth ages 6 to 17. The first 2\,000 fans through the gate get a Lucky Ticket scratch-off with chances at prizes and VIP experiences. Reserved clubhouse tables and trackside cabanas are sold out\, so general admission is the way in. The 2026 meet ran select Wednesdays\, Thursdays\, Saturdays and Sundays from May 23\, and this is the last card of the year. \nCanterbury Park is at 1100 Canterbury Road in Shakopee.
