SUMMARY:Night to Unite
DESCRIPTION:Night to Unite is the one evening a year when Prior Lake deliberately turns into a few hundred small parties. Neighborhoods across the city host potlucks\, BBQs\, and ice cream socials\, and city staff make the rounds from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. — registered parties get a visit from a squad car\, a fire engine\, or a plow truck\, and often an officer\, a firefighter\, a council member\, or the Mayor along with it. Party organizers receive an email before the 4th with their visit time. \nRegistration for 2026 closed on July 26\, so if your street didn’t sign up this year\, put it on the calendar for next summer — and you can still wander over to a neighbor’s gathering; that is rather the point of the whole thing. \nOne thing everyone can do\, party or not: this year’s donation drive supports Southern Valley Alliance\, which serves survivors of domestic abuse in Scott and Carver counties. Needed items include household cleaning products\, personal care items\, and gift cards (gas\, food\, rideshare\, Amazon). SUMMARY:NEIL! Martin Zellar's Tribute to Neil Diamond — Rhythm on the Rails
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota music veteran Martin Zellar\, longtime frontman of Gear Daddies and a fixture of the Twin Cities scene since the ’80s\, brings NEIL!\, his full-band tribute to Neil Diamond\, back to close out the 2026 Rhythm on the Rails series. Originally set to open the season in June\, the show was postponed and now lands on Wednesday\, August 5 as the rescheduled finale. Expect the singalong anthems and ballads from Diamond’s catalog (“Sweet Caroline\,” “Cracklin’ Rosie\,” “Forever in Blue Jeans\,” and more) reworked through Zellar’s heartland-rock sensibility. \nRhythm on the Rails is a free outdoor concert series held on Wednesday nights through the summer on Lewis Street in downtown Shakopee. Each night runs from 6–9 p.m. with a local opening act warming up the crowd before the headliner. The street closes to traffic and turns into an open-air block party\, with food trucks and vendors on site: Amazing Momo\, The Cave Cafe\, Rollin Nolen’s BBQ\, Game Day Grub\, Westy’s Shako Shack\, O’Brien’s Public House\, and Texas Roadhouse.
