The $20 Early Bird ticket opens the doors at 8 a.m. Thursday\, two full hours before general admission\, and includes general admission on Friday and Saturday too. Tickets are available online at junkbonanza.com; at the door it is cash or check only\, with ATMs on site. Parking at Canterbury Park is free and plentiful. \nVendors restock their booths at the end of each day\, so there is fresh merchandise on the floor all three days\, and food and drinks are available for purchase inside. A separate Holiday edition of Junk Bonanza follows later in the year; 2026 dates have not been announced yet.

DESCRIPTION:VFW Post 6208 throws its annual Community Chicken Feed on Sunday\, September 13\, serving from 3 to 7 p.m. This year the dinner grows into a full-on party in the post’s parking lot at 16306 Main Ave SE in downtown Prior Lake. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. Everyone is welcome\, member or not. \nThe Chicken Feed is one of downtown’s longest-running traditions. It began as the Prior Lake firefighters’ fall chicken dinner\, cooked and served at the VFW for years\, and a September Sunday chicken dinner has been a downtown fixture ever since. In recent years the party took over Main Avenue itself\, with the street closed to traffic for the afternoon. This year it moves a few steps off the street into the post’s lot\, same outdoor block party feel. \nThis year’s plate is barbecued chicken with a baked potato\, pickles and Casey’s sweet corn\, and there is live entertainment on site along with children’s events. Tickets are sold the day of the event at the post. The Facebook event page has the latest. \nThe dinner is a benefit for the post\, which has anchored downtown Prior Lake since 1946 and marks its 80th year in 2026. If you have never been inside the VFW\, this is the easiest afternoon of the year to fix that.
