Mahjong Beginner’s Class

Learn the basics of Chinese mahjong at a beginner class hosted by Lake Stories, Prior Lake’s new pop-up bookstore, on Monday, August 31 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Spot’s Last Stop Canine Rescue. Doors open at 6:15.

Instruction comes from a team of local Prior Lake women who love the game, and registration includes guided instruction, hands-on coaching, a charcuterie snack box and dot cake from Wise Owl Eatery, and beverages. No experience necessary. Every registrant is also entered to win a copy of Nicole Wong’s book Mahjong, and the pop-up bookstore will be stocked with books, gifts, toys, and mahjong accessories to browse before and after class.

Space is limited to 24 players. Registration is $50 through August 17 and $60 after that, at lakestoriesmn.com.
