Prior Lake Events is the central place to find out what’s happening around town. Concerts, family activities, city meetings, school events, fundraisers, local business happenings, and everything in between. One calendar, updated daily, so you don’t have to piece it together yourself.

Why I built this

I’m Mark Gores. I’ve been in Prior Lake for over 40 years, and for years I had the same problem everyone else did: I’d hear about a great event the day after it happened. A festival I would’ve taken my family to. A fundraiser I would’ve supported. A concert I didn’t know was happening until someone posted photos.

The information was out there, scattered across social media pages, city announcements, school newsletters, and word of mouth, but there was no single place to see it all. So I built one.

Prior Lake Events pulls everything together in one calendar that’s easy to browse, easy to search, and easy to share. If it’s happening in Prior Lake and it’s open to the public, it should be here.

What you’ll find

  • Family & Kids – library programs, school happenings, festivals, seasonal activities
  • Arts & Culture – live music, theater, galleries, classes, author events
  • Food & Drink – tastings, pop-ups, brewery nights, restaurant specials
  • Outdoors & Recreation – leagues, group runs, parks programs, lake activities
  • Community & Civic – city meetings, nonprofit fundraisers, volunteer opportunities
  • Business & Networking – workshops, grand openings, markets, chamber events

Beyond the calendar, I’ve also put together a guide to living in Prior Lake with neighborhood info, schools, local history, and the kind of stuff you’d normally have to ask a longtime resident about.

How it works

I collect events from public sources, organization calendars, and community submissions. Anyone can submit an event. It takes a couple of minutes, and there’s no cost for a standard listing. I review submissions for clarity and fit, then publish. Most events go live within 24 hours.

If something needs a correction or an update, just let me know at mark@priorlakeevents.com and I’ll take care of it.

Get the newsletter

I send two emails a week:

  • Weekly Roundup (Mondays) – everything coming up in the week ahead
  • Weekend Preview (Fridays) – the best of Friday through Sunday

No fluff, no spam, easy to unsubscribe. Just a quick way to see what’s happening without checking the site every day.

Add your event

If you’re hosting something the community should know about, whether it’s a fundraiser, a show, a class, or a grand opening, you can add it to the calendar yourself.

  • Enter the date, time, location, and a short description
  • Add a photo or flyer if you have one
  • I’ll review it and publish, usually within 24 hours

Or if you’d rather just send me the details, that works too. Shoot it over to mark@priorlakeevents.com and I’ll get it posted.

Free listings are the backbone of this site. If it’s happening in Prior Lake and it’s open to the public, it belongs here.

Supporting the site

Prior Lake Events is free for readers and free for most event listings. To keep it running and keep improving it, I partner with a small number of local businesses each month through featured sponsorships.

If you run a local business and want to get in front of the Prior Lake audience, there’s a simple way to do that: a featured spot in the newsletter, a banner on the calendar, and a dedicated social post to the local audience. I handle the creative, and you see the results.

One business at a time. Designed to feel like a recommendation, not an ad.

What gets listed (and what doesn’t)

Prior Lake Events is focused on community happenings. Things people can attend, participate in, or support. I include public events like city festivals, library programs, concerts, fundraisers, school activities, and varsity home games.

I don’t list individual garage sales, real estate open houses, or routine daily specials. The goal is to keep the calendar useful and browsable, not cluttered.

Quick answers

Is it free to list an event?

Yes. Standard community listings are free and always will be.

How do I update or remove my event?

You can edit or delete your own submissions anytime through View Your Submitted Events. If you run into trouble, email me and I’ll fix it.

Where do the events come from?

A mix of public sources, organization calendars, and direct submissions. If I missed something, send it in.

Are the times always accurate?

I do my best, but event details can change. Always confirm with the organizer’s page before heading out, especially for weather-dependent events.

Can I add a photo?

Yes, and you should. Events with photos get more attention. You can upload one when you submit, or email it to me and I’ll attach it.

A bit more about me

By day, I’m a real estate agent with RE/MAX Advantage Plus — 22 years in the Prior Lake market. I also built PriorLake.RealEstate, a market analytics site with real-time MLS data for the area. If you’re ever curious about home values, market trends, or what’s going on in a specific neighborhood, it’s all there.

But Prior Lake Events came from a different place entirely — I just wanted a community calendar that worked. The two things overlap sometimes, but PLE will always be about events first.
