Sand Point Beach is the city swimming beach on the north shore of Prior Lake, at the end of Crest Avenue NE. It is the classic Prior Lake summer spot: a long sand beach, two picnic shelters, a playground, three sand volleyball courts, permanent bean-bag boards, a fishing pier, restrooms, and day-use boat slips and canoe racks so you can arrive by water. There is no lifeguard.

The beach season runs May through Labor Day. Parking is $7 a day, paid by card at the meter in the lot, or $60 for a season pass. The park itself is open 5 am to 10 pm year-round, and it doubles as an event site: the Prior Lake Polar Plunge and the Sportsmen's Club ice fishing contest happen off this shore in winter, and beach parties, dog walks and fishing tournaments use it in summer.
