Prior Lake Players Community Theatre holds open auditions for its fall production of Much Ado About Nothing on Monday, August 31 and Tuesday, September 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Middle School. Callbacks follow on Thursday, September 3, with materials emailed to those invited.
This staging drops Shakespeare’s comedy into the world of reality TV docudramas, think Real Housewives and the Kardashians, and the company promises a campy, heavily dramatized, comedic production. Auditioners should prepare a Shakespearean soliloquy of their choosing, memorization preferred. No formal Shakespeare training is required and all are welcome, including minors with a guardian’s permission.
