Prior Lake votes Tuesday on final approval for 62 homes by Campbell Lake
The Prior Lake City Council votes Tuesday, Oct. 13, on final approval of Campbell Shores, a 62-lot single-family neighborhood north of 170th Street East and west of Marschall Road, next to Campbell Lake, according to the council’s agenda packet. Pinnacle Family Homes is the developer. The council approved the preliminary plat on June 9, and the final plat, final PUD plan and development agreement are now on the consent agenda.
The plans make room for the county’s roundabout and trail underpass at Marschall Road and 170th Street, the intersection the county calls CH 12. The developer must finish the neighborhood’s streets and utilities by Dec. 31, 2027, a deadline the city engineer can extend if the county’s intersection project is delayed. Any closure or restriction on 170th Street that affects access to Spring View Meadows, south of 170th, needs city and county approval first. City staff wrote that the split of city, county and developer costs is structured to result in no net financial impact to the city.
Also on the consent agenda is the city’s cooperative agreement for the CH 17 rebuild between CH 42 and CH 12, set for 2027, with roundabouts at CH 12, CH 82 and CH 14 and a pedestrian underpass. The city’s estimated share is $1,658,000, including $161,000 from the tax levy and $600,000 in municipal state aid. The county board approved eminent domain for the road’s unsettled land on Oct. 6 and takes up the cost agreement Oct. 20.
What's next: The council meets at 7 pm Tuesday at City Hall, 4646 Dakota Street SE. At the public forum that opens the meeting, anyone may speak for up to five minutes and ask the council to pull an item from the consent agenda. The county board takes up the cost agreement Oct. 20.
