Shakopee’s Holiday Fest takes over downtown on Saturday, December 5. The Shakopee Chamber and Visitors Bureau fills First Avenue, Lewis Street and the Lewis Street lot with an open streets celebration that kicks off the holiday season: a vendor market, pictures with Santa, a parade and the tree lighting. The Chamber has not announced this year’s start time yet.
The tree lighting is on First Avenue East in front of River City Centre, with a welcome from Chamber president Tim Zunker and Mayor Matt Lehman. Last year the tree was lit at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks followed at Huber Park.
Times and the schedule will be posted on the Shakopee Chamber’s Holiday Fest page.
