Downtown Shakopee

Downtown Shakopee, around First Avenue and Lewis Street, is where the city's big street events happen. The Shakopee Chamber and Visitors Bureau, which runs Rhythm on the Rails and Holiday Fest, has its office at 145 First Avenue East.

Rhythm on the Rails is the Chamber's free summer concert series: six Wednesday nights each summer, 6 to 9 pm on Lewis Street, with local openers, regional headliners and food and drink vendors in the Lewis Street lot. Proceeds go to Shakopee Dollars for Scholars and the Shakopee Foundation.

Holiday Fest, the Chamber's open streets kickoff to the holidays, will be Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026, with a 5 pm parade along Holmes Street, First Avenue and Sommerville Street, photos with Santa, the tree lighting and fireworks. Main Street Shakopee, the group working to revitalize downtown, hosts events like the downtown trick or treat. The Chamber's downtown parking map includes the lots at Huber Park.
