Minnesota Starwatch at Lakefront Park
Wed, Oct 14 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$8
Mike Lynch brings Minnesota Starwatch to Lakefront Park on Wednesday, October 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. Giant telescopes aim at Saturn, star clusters, and galaxies, video telescopes show live color images of deep sky objects, and Lynch tells the stories behind constellations like the Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, and Pegasus the Winged Horse.
Lynch is a retired WCCO Radio meteorologist who has hosted star parties for over 50 years and writes a weekly stargazing column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Everyone takes home a packet of star maps, constellation charts, app recommendations, and a telescope buying guide. His book and glow-in-the-dark star shirts are available for purchase.
The program meets at the Lakefront Park hockey rink. Ages 7 and up, $8 per person.
Pre-registration is required and closes October 7. Register through Prior Lake Parks and Recreation.
In case of inclement weather, check priorlakemn.gov/weather before heading to the park.
