Tricks and Treats is Valleyfair’s daytime Halloween celebration for families, Saturdays and Sundays through November 1, with two weekends left: October 24 and 25, and October 31 and November 1. Hours are noon to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The park sets out trick-or-treat trails, along with character meet and greets, kid-friendly shows and Craft Central, and the family rides are running. Kids and grown-ups can enter the costume contest on the Midway Stage at 12:30, 2, 3:30 and 5 p.m., and some treat stops are Teal Pumpkin Project spots with non-food treats. The Halloween midway games cost extra.
It is included with park admission and eligible season passes. A day ticket is $37.99 online or $64 at the gate, and it does not include ValleyScare. Parking is $20.99 online or $25 at the gate, free with a season pass. On Saturdays everyone 17 and under needs a chaperone 21 or older all day; on Sundays the rule covers 15 and under from 4 p.m. Costumes that hide who you are are not allowed.
On Saturdays the park switches over at 5:30 p.m. to ValleyScare, the separately ticketed haunted event that is not meant for young kids. A Saturday combo ticket ($99.99 online) covers both, but costumes are not allowed at ValleyScare. Details and tickets are on Valleyfair’s Tricks and Treats page.
