Sailer's Greenhouse is the family greenhouse on 170th Street East, a Shakopee address just over the Prior Lake line; a lot of Prior Lake gardeners think of it as their local nursery. Spring is the main event, annuals, hanging baskets, perennials, trees, shrubs and vegetable starts, and the greenhouses stay busy through fall with mums and pumpkins and into winter with houseplants, succulents, cacti and holiday decor.

The workshops are why it shows up on this site so often, and most are drop-in: come in any time during the workshop's hours and build a spring container, a fall container, a winter spruce-top pot, a wreath or a holiday centerpiece at your own pace. A few, like the fall container workshop, take sign-ups on sailersgreenhouse.com. Kids Gardening Weekend in April and Pups and Pumpkins in October are the family days, and Santa at Sailer's on a December Sunday gives free pictures with Santa for the donation of a new toy.
