Chalk Fest 2026 – Saturday

Day two of Chalk Fest runs Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Main Avenue in downtown Prior Lake, between County Road 21 and Dakota Street SE.

Professional chalk artists fill the street with large-format pieces, alongside an amateur chalk art contest, interactive art displays, live music, and food trucks. Chula’s Mexican-Latin Food & Spirits and Lightbridge Academy sponsor the Saturday events, and a KaiBi Mobile Family Care unit is on site both days.

The amateur contest is open to young artists in two age groups, 12 and under and 13 to 18, each working a 4 by 4 foot square of pavement with prizes on the line. Online registration is $20 per person through noon on September 17, and day-of registration is $30 if space allows. Register for the contest through Prior Lake Parks and Recreation.

Boathouse Brothers Brewing, at 16211 Main Avenue, holds a temporary city liquor license for an art appreciation street party on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, September 19 and 20, with beer served in a fenced area, so there is extra time to take in the chalk after the festival wraps.
