Superintendent Jim Wagner of Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools walks through the district’s referendum presentation, then takes questions, at a town hall on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 6 to 7 p.m. at The Savage Tap, 12925 Eagle Creek Parkway in Savage. It’s free and open to the public.
The town hall is hosted by Yes for Laker Schools, a volunteer group that supports the referendum and is not part of the school district. The hosts say everyone is welcome, “whether you’re a yes, a no, or still deciding.” Details are on the group’s Facebook event.
The district holds its own referendum information session the next night, Thursday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the District Services Center in Prior Lake, and livestreams it.
Two questions are on the Tuesday, Nov. 3, ballot: a new operating levy, and a capital projects levy that applies only if the first one passes. The school referendum page on this site has the ballot wording, the district’s cost estimates and where and when to vote. Early voting is already open.
