Prior Lake may move Memorial Park’s playground and veterans memorial
The Prior Lake City Council saw a preferred design for Memorial Park at its work session Tuesday, Oct. 27, and it calls for relocating the park’s playground and its veterans memorial to improve accessibility and safety, the city said in its Oct. 29 news update.
The design, presented by city staff and the planning consultant HKGi, also calls for upgrades to the park’s facilities and to the ballfield, to improve game play and the spectator experience. The update summarized the planning process and the feedback gathered from the community and from park user groups.
Nothing has been adopted. The city plans to share the preferred concept with the community one final time before the council takes up formal adoption of the plan in late 2026 or early 2027. The Oct. 27 presentation, with the drawings, is posted on the city’s Park Master Plans page.
What's next: The city plans to share the preferred concept with the community once more before the council takes up adoption in late 2026 or early 2027.
