Charlie's on Prior is the lakeside restaurant on Green Heights Trail SW on Lower Prior Lake, open year-round. Upstairs is the dining room and the full menu: walleye three ways, tacos, burgers, scratch pizzas, smoked barbecue from the pit, bowls and salads, with brunch Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. Down at the water is The Landing, the patio bar with its own shorter menu and picnic-table seating; dogs on a leash are welcome there. Three bars in all.

In summer The Landing hosts Live on the Landing, live music on the patio Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30, which I list show by show. The rest of the year Charlie's fills with the kind of things that keep it on this calendar: a Beer and BBQ Fest in January, Tip-A-Cop for Special Olympics, PINKtober pop-up shops for Hope Chest in October, a Halloween Boo Bash, and in December the Fa-La-La Landing, a holiday pop-up most Thursday through Saturday nights from 5:30 with festive cocktails and no reservations.

Hours: 11 am to close Monday through Friday, 9 am to close on weekends. Phone: (952) 226-5253. Waitlist and reservations at charliesonprior.com; the holiday pop-up is first come, first served.
