Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club

The Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club sits on 220th Street East in the countryside a few minutes south of town, and the name undersells what it is. Despite the word club, it is open to the public year-round: you do not need a membership to shoot, eat, or come to a show.

The core of the place is shooting sports. There are trap and skeet fields, a sporting clays course, rifle and pistol ranges, an archery range, and upland bird hunting in season. Glow-in-the-dark Cosmic Clays nights and beginner wing-shooting clinics for women show up on the calendar most years.

Trigger's Bar and Restaurant is the other reason people drive out. The kitchen leans on wild-game-inspired dishes alongside the classics, with prime rib on Saturdays and a Friday fish special. The lodge and a semi-outdoor pavilion host weddings and corporate events, but also a steady run of public nights that Prior Lake Events covers regularly: monthly Line Dancing Night, Dueling Pianos, Dinner on the Prairie, and tribute concerts that tend to sell out.
