Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community's casino resort on County Road 83, a few miles northwest of downtown with a Prior Lake address. It is open around the clock: a casino floor with slots, table games, pulltabs and a bingo hall, the hotel, a spa, the restaurants and bars, the free Hop House and DrinX stages (karaoke, DJs, cover bands), the Mystic Showroom for concerts and comedy, and Mystic Lake Center, the 70,000-square-foot meeting building that takes the expos, galas and bigger one-off events. By state law you must be 18 to gamble.

For this site, Mystic Lake is a venue first. The Showroom books national touring acts, comedians and LFA mixed martial arts cards year-round, and Blingo and Ladies Weekend come around a few times a year. The outdoor Mystic Lake Amphitheater is a separate site a few miles north next to Canterbury Park in Shakopee; Mystic holds the naming rights and runs a shuttle from the casino to every show, starting 30 minutes before doors open. Prior Lake Events lists the public shows and events at both, with ticket links.

Next door are The Meadows golf course and LaunchPad Golf. General information: (800) 262-7799; box office 952-496-6563; hotel reservations 952-445-9000. The full schedule is at mysticlake.com.
