The Wilds Golf Club

The Wilds Golf Club is the public 18-hole course on Wilds Ridge in Prior Lake, designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. From the back tees it plays 7,012 yards, par 72, slope 145, rating 74.0, with more than 150 feet of elevation change and water on close to half the holes; Golf Digest rates it a Best Place to Play. Several sets of tees keep it playable for the rest of us, the club runs leagues in season, and in winter the leagues move to the golf simulators in the clubhouse.

You do not need to golf to use the clubhouse. The Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired building looks out toward the Minneapolis skyline and holds Slate North, the restaurant, open to the public seven days a week with reservations and online ordering. Banquet rooms take anything from a 10-person meeting to a 250-guest wedding (the club's own homepage says up to 350), which is why the Chamber's annual golf tournament, the spring and holiday boutiques and a run of fundraisers land here. Prior Lake Events lists the public ones below.

Tee times book online at golfthewilds.com or by phone at (952) 445-3500; the club's own calendar there carries its live music nights and the Big Chili Open.
