Savage American Legion Dan Patch Post #643

The Savage American Legion, Dan Patch Post 643, is the Legion hall at 12375 Princeton Avenue in downtown Savage, and it is open to the public. The post's own words: it welcomes the public to the dining room, the lounge and the banquet hall. There is a full bar, pull tabs and lottery, a kitchen that serves lunch and dinner every day and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and Ed Reiners Hall, the banquet room, which rents for weddings, parties, craft fairs and trade shows.

The weekly calendar is the small-town kind: bingo and a meat raffle on Saturdays, bingo on Mondays, a meat raffle on Wednesdays, and Mega Cash Bingo on the third Thursday of the month (doors at 4:30, games at 6). Friday is the fish special, five pieces of fried or broiled pollock. Karaoke and bands show up a couple of times a month. The dates I list every year are the Vettes for Vets car show in August (the 19th one was Aug. 9, 2026) and the Auxiliary's holiday craft and bake sale in December. Under 18 cannot be in the hall during gaming.

Proceeds from the gambling go to veterans and community programs. Hours, the weekly specials and the full calendar are at savageamericanlegion.com; the post's number is (952) 894-6940.
