The Savage American Legion, Dan Patch Post 643, is the Legion hall on Princeton Avenue in downtown Savage, and like most Legions in the south metro it is open to the public, not just members. There is a dining room, a lounge with a full bar, pull tabs and charitable gambling, and a banquet hall that rents for weddings, parties, craft fairs and trade shows.

The calendar is busy in a small-town way: bingo and meat raffles on Saturdays, karaoke, live music and dance nights, and the annual Vettes for Vets car show each August, which Prior Lake Events lists every year. Proceeds from the gambling and events fund veterans and community programs, which is the whole point of the place.
